A fabulous somewhere, and we're leasing from a US Army Col. so we're good in the military lifestyle.
We've signed a lease, in the town I wanted so the girls will go to some of the best schools in Virginia.
I've finished transferring the utilities, so now we need to get a washer/dryer and fridge and we're good to go. I'll upload pics as soon as possible.
I can't express the sheer joy of having somewhere other than a hotel to live.

Hi! My name is Cat. My husband just joined the Army about a month ago and is off for his 8 months of training. I am just hopping around looking for other Military wives and their blogs and trying to make some new friends!
ReplyDeleteAny tips for a newbie?
Hhhhmmm, I'm a 12+ year AF wife, so I'm not sure how much help I can be for you. Some suggestions -
ReplyDelete1 - Some military wives are witches. You will get burned eventually, but look at it as a learning experience.
2 - Deployments, training, TDYs they all suck. Don't get sucked into the "I have it worse game". No one wants to win that one.
3 - Don't sweat what other wives think of you. Sometimes they can be catty beyond anything in High School. Just smile, even if it feels like it might kill you. It annoys them, and lets them know you won't be broken.
4 - Some of the best and worst people in the world wear the uniform. Strive to find the good ones, ignore the so-so, and avoid the bad ones. This is also a learning experience.
5 - Have fun with all you'll go through. There will be days you'll want to cry until you have no tears left - do it! There will be days you want to dance and sing - do it! This life is never boring. :)
